About Malachi.Energy

Following the energy.
Asking who pays.

AI data centers are driving the biggest shift in electricity demand in a generation. Malachi.Energy tracks how that demand reshapes rates, strains regional grids, and changes the math on energy efficiency investments — for homeowners, building operators, and the communities that depend on affordable power.

About the Founder

Malachi Rein is an architectural engineer (Missouri S&T, 2016), LEED AP BD+C, and the Executive Director of Building Energy Exchange St. Louis. His day job is bridging the gap between technical expertise and community understanding — helping building owners, operators, and policymakers make smarter decisions about energy performance.

He launched Malachi.Energy to bring that same approach to a bigger question: what happens when AI-scale electricity demand meets an aging grid and rising rates? The answer affects every ratepayer in the country.
